I really never had much chance to see my PCU highschool friends. The last time I met them was during Lorinna's despedida before she left for the U.S. (about a couple of years ago). And seeing them again this time is a blend of happy and sad feelings. It's totally great to see them and catch up with each other again, but I can't help to feel sad knowing that one of us is leaving the country again. :( It's Consorcia leaving for Dubai this time. Oh well, I guess that's how life really is... I wonder who would be next? Could it be me? :D Who knows... We'll just wait and see who would be the first to text to meet up again for a despedida. :D

We're supposed to meet at Edsa Shangrilla for dinner. But due to some demands at work, I wasn't able to join them that time. huhuhu... Lizbeth had to go to work by 9pm, so I wasn't able to see her :( Good thing, Consorcia and Yvette decided to meet me at UCC Park Cafe near Glorietta. It was a great time catching up with each other and hearing news about our friends, classmates, batchmates and even teachers back in highschool...oh how time really flies soooo fast! I somehow feel old hearing each other's stories. hehehehe...

And as what I always say, it's never "goodbye" but "until we meet again". Anyway, she promised to come home if one of us gets married soon, hehehehe... So i guess we just have to assure her that happens really really soon :D

This is the 4th wedding I've attended this year, yet the first ever beach wedding I've been to so far. And I should say, one of the most beautiful as well. It was a 3-hour travel from Alabang going to Nasugbu. Unfortunately, we missed to see the beautiful bride walk down the isle. But we're just thankful for the on-site video which was shown during the reception, somehow we're able to see a glimpse of those moments we missed.

Overall, it was definitely a glorious and memorable day for the newly-weds - with the bright skies and fine weather (Thank God He has heard our prayers as well as of the hundreds of couples who are also being married that day - 8/8/8 :D), with the great view of South China Sea, lovely setup, sumptuous delicious food, all the wonderful people who shared the couple's special day and of course the beautiful and touching wedding ceremony and celebration itself. A lovely wedding indeed! :)

Passion World Tour - Manila!

Few days before the concert, Dan asked me if we could watch the Passion concert. I told him I would really love to, but I just wasn't sure if we could still get tickets because they're really selling like hotcakes! And there were really many people (like us) who wanted to experience this once in a lifetime Passion World Tour. I also never got the chance to pass by any House of Praise outlets to inquire, but I guess heaven has heard our plea. :) Got a text message from Deb and she said she still have some extra tickets for the concert. yahuuuu! So I immediately informed Dan about the good news and he called Deb right away to reserve 2 tickets for us. :) cool!

Concert day came and it's still quite rainy around the metro. I already told kuya Bob and Ayi to reserve seats for us since they will be arriving early at the venue. Good thing they did, because it was quite an adventure for me and Dan to get there. Our work scheds, the weather, the traffic, the hot-tempered fx driver, the choosy taxi drivers, the long queue at the jeepney terminal and several other hindrances made our travel from Makati going to ULTRA quite like an Amazing Race! Concert started on time (7:30pm) but we're still in Makati at around 8pm. waaaaah! Kuya Bob kept on texting us asking our whereabouts. I kept on asking him if we already missed a lot - and if my fave Chris Tomlin song "Indescribable" has already been sung. He told me it wasn't played yet. whew! twas a relief! :D We finally arrived at around 8:30 and met with kuya Bob and Ayi. I looked around the venue, and even if it was dim, I sensed that the arena was jam-packed with people! It was Kristian Stanfill singing beautifully when we arrived. :)

I was a little worried about the time because I still have to attend my uncle's wake afterwards. But I told myself to just be still in God's presence and to allow myself to be ministered. And that's really what happened. Pastor Louie's message especially when he shared about Ashley's diary really struck me and left me crying. I was once again reminded how precious life is and how many people around me needed to know Jesus and accept Him as Lord and Savior. And just like the life story of Ashley as told in her diary, and how her life was changed because there was a "fruitcake" (as what she calls her room mate, Christa) who shared to her about God's love, I was challenged as well to be a "fruitcake" in the "Ashleys" around me, while there's still time.

Tears kept flowing even as Chris Tomlin sang "Amazing Grace" and "God of the City". I believe there's still hope for our cities and for our country as a whole, if we will just acknowledge and let God be God in our lives. And finally, the song that I've been waiting for all night - Indescribable - got me worshipping God all the more. It was really awesome to hear Chris Tomlin sing it live! I couldn't wipe the smile off my face. :) All praises to God Who has truly made the concert victorious! I know many lives have been touched and changed by what we have seen and heard. We left the venue with our hearts still singing "How Great is our God!" :)

Let me take this opportunity as well to send all our love and thanksgiving to our brothers and sisters in London who supported this Passion-Manila concert with their prayers and finances. Because of your love and support, more than 8,000 souls have heard God's message through the Passion concert!!! God bless you more and more! :D Click below to see and hear them cheering for Manila! :)

For us here in the Philippines, we too had the chance to "pay it forward" by praying and giving our financial support for Passion's concert in Malaysia (last Aug 3). We all wore our concert bracelets until Sunday to remind us to pray for our brothers and sisters in Malaysia. And the other day, I just found out that there were about 4,000 souls who experienced the Passion's concert in Malaysia just like we do. God's is truly amazing! :D

So we think we can dance? =)

Dancing...

It was one of those things I've found myself to love and enjoy doing over the years, but I guess I just didn't have so much chance of doing (and enhancing) so often. Probably, I could consider it as one of my hidden talents (hehehehe...) which I somehow have a chance of sharing to others at some point, like during some events in school, in Church and even now in a couple of our company events. :)

Those dancing stints, plus the influence which I got from watching SYTYCD episodes, pushed me to take a chance and get myself to grooving by enrolling in dance classes. (oh yeah! you read it right! :D) It's a blessing to have a dance school near the office. :) That being the case, it was also quite easy for me to convince my team mate Onax to join me in this quest....hehehe... He willingly enrolled, too! cool! :)

We just finished 4 sessions of dance classes this month. yeyyyy! Though I still feel my legs aching from the steps we did in our last session. Those fast-paced kneeling steps left me feeling like I'm about to have cramps... arghhh. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the session as always. :)

There were a lot of times after our classes when the studio manager approached us and would convince us to continue the dance classes until October so we could join the recital. For me and Onax, it sounded like a great idea which we would certainly want to experience. But still, we have to consider some factors like our working scheds, budget and more importantly, if we would endure until the end. hehehe...

We still have a week to contemplate on it, and decide.

So...do we really think we can dance? =)

Hmmm...Maybe, we just have do it to find out. *winks* :D

ooohhh my! It's been a really long while since I last managed to type something in this little blog of mine... and I soooo missed doing this!

Well, yeah...it's the busy days at work, in Church and in some other stuff (not to mention the lazy days that strikes me once in a while...hehehe...) that basically kept me from blogging. But yes! It's just great to once again see this little space and type something on this blogger editor. :D

I wanted to share a whole lot of events that made my summer wonderful, but I guess it would take a lot (as in a lot) of my time if I would enumerate them all here. Anyway, I already shared a glimpse of them in my Friendster account, so if you have the luxury of time, just kindly check them out there.

Hopefully, I'd be more consistent now in updating my blog and in sharing something to the cyberworld more often. (i'm keeping my fingers crossed :D)

Staying true to that promise, here's a little video that I wanna share w/ you. Hope you would really take time to watch it. We had another opportunity to share the gift of music on a lovely occassion such as the wedding of Gelo and Angie's uncle - Noel and her lovely wife, Shirley. We missed James, Bob, Mark, Cjei, Ate Olive, Mitch and Sassy, though. It's always best to have the complete band together, but we just have to make the best of what we have. Besides, God is always faithful to help and guide us, whether we are complete or not.

Cjei's luau debut party

It was almost unexpected but we're all glad that Cjei's debut party pushed thru! yipeee! It's just kinda sad to think that she won't be having any party on her 18th birthday just because of some sort of budget constraints. No, those who love this girl just can't accept that for a reason. And besides, she's the youngest and only girl in the family.

So we all expect her to get some sort of a special treatment. :D We all know she deserves it. *winks* We could go on and on saying a lot of good things about this girl now turning into a lovely lady. Needless to say, she's truly a blessing to us. :)

Two weeks is not much time for preparation, but as a church family we still managed to make it work with God's help. :) The YA's/Youth took care of the overall luau decors. Elaine w/ Ate Olive came up with the programme.

I did the audio-visual presentations - both the one Cjei approved of and the surprise video for her. hehe...(btw, thanks to Pastor Archie for lending his laptop, my PC is not so reliable nowadays). I was also the official photographer while my dad handled the videocam.

The Moms diligently hand-made numerous leis for the estimated number of guests. The Dads setup the lights and sounds. VOX, lead by James (Cjei's bro) is in charge of the music, of course. Cjei's aunt took care of the buffet table and some viands as well. And even if Tito Sandy (CJei's dad) and his kuya Jeff were abroad, their love is definitely felt by Cjei in a lot of ways. :D But of course Tita Luz (Cjei's mom) took care, overall.

SSCDC on its 5th Year

It was always a pleasure being invited at Sunny Side Child Development Center (SSCDC) whenever they have events like this. Since it started 5 yrs. ago, Ma'am Marlyn (my elementary teacher and co-owner of this pre-school) never failed to invite me, and so I became one of its loyal guests especially during graduations.

This time I was once again invited to be the master of ceremonies at their commencement exercises. I'm just glad my sister came with me this time. I wouldn't look as nice without my make-up artist and fashion consultant beside me. :D thanks a bunch sis! muuuah! :)

I've seen kids come and go at SSCDC every occasion such as this. And I'm always inspired whenever I see what has become of them after a few years of their stay in this institution. They surely have learned a lot from their committed teachers, and their teachers must be really proud of them as well! :)

After almost 6 yrs of faithful service, I now had to bid farewell to my good old nokia 6610 huhuhu... No, it wasn't broken nor stolen. Though I know many people wished it would, so they could see me get a new one. I think they're just wondering why I don't change units like what many people do. But yes, they're already pleading (yes, begging) that I get a new phone. hehehe...

So there, I now say hello to a brand new nokia 6300 which I got for free! An early birthday gift from Globe huh? hehehe... Better yet, a great blessing from the Lord. :) He just knows exactly what I wanted. And He knows as well that I really would not easily convince myself to spend for a new unit (ok I admit I could be stingy sometimes :P). I'm just glad He just gave it to me for free! Really, really sweeeeeet! :D

While spending some family time at Puerto Galera, we had to leave Mayumi at Pastor Archie's house to take care of her since we expect her to give birth anytime during the weekend. And true enough, we received a text message at Saturday evening of our stay at Galera informing us that Mayumi is already a mom of 4 cute puppies (2 guys and 2 girls)!!! yipeeee!!! Unfortunately though, one of the male puppies turned out to be weak... and so he was gone after a couple of days :( twas really sad, but at least there are still 3 more puppies we could take care of. :) Here take a look at them....

I've kept a copy of this movie (the 1994 remake) for the longest time now, but I only got a chance to see it a couple of days ago. It was a nice love story (just like the 1939 and 1957 versions) and I couldn't help but fall in love with the movie soundtrack as well, particularly the Kids singing "I will" (so cute!), the Piano Solo and of course, the end credits song - Love Affair :)

I'm still looking for the mp3 of that end credits song. Anyone willing to share? :D I'm thanking you in advance! :) Meantime, I'd like to share the lyrics here...

I just loved the holidays 'cause it gave me a chance to once again meet my good old friends. Thanks to my dear friend Anne for the treat and for the gift(s?) hehehe... :D I really hope to visit her in Singapore sometime this year. :D It was also great to see Augs again (and the rest of the Ephil folks) at least before he goes back to the U.S. I also had a chance to chat with my now Aussie friend, Chel even just for a little while. :D It just feels great to be with them once again. :)

Facing the New Year with Courage

"Be strong and courageous!"
Deuteronomy 31:6 NIV

Without courage you're not living, you're hiding! Courage is what moves you forward; it's the muscle that makes your faith work. Faith by itself can be nothing more than a set of beliefs. Courage is what activates those beliefs.

Every Promised Land has giant-sized problems, and you have to face them and defeat them before moving in and taking up residence. Notice three things in Deuteronomy Chapter 7 (NIV) that God said to Israel about taking the Promised Land:

(1) "Your God, who is among you, is a great and awesome God" (v.21). Your God is greater than any opposition you are facing.

(2) "Will drive out those nations before you (v22)." God will go ahead of you. He will do for you what you cannot do for yourself, but you've got to show up for the fight.

(3) "Little by little (v22)." Whether it's conquering your Promised Land or your character flaws, you can't do it all at once, so God works with you in one area after another. Life is not one big battle, then you march in the victory parade. No, it's a series of small daily victories required to defeat the enemies of your Spiritual growth.

Twenty-four chapters later God is still telling Israel to be courageous ( Deuteronomy 31:6). That's because courage is like oxygen, you can't survive without it. Courage is not the absence of fear, it's the conquest of it.

Courage means doing it afraid - until you're no longer afraid. It means - tremble your way to confidence! God promised to go with them, and go before them. Who does God walk with and work with? Who does He go ahead of and arrange things for? The courageous!

May we all face 2008 with courage!!!

I just would like to share some of those precious messages I've received from my NYO (National Youth Organization) co-coregroup members, whom I've worked with throughout the whole year in preparing for our Church's Global Gathering this year.

We came from different origins and I've known most of them only this year, but it seemed we all came from a single root and we've already known each other for a long time. Indeed, God gathered us and united us together to do the work He has set before us.

As they all said...we've been through a lot, and we've definitely learned much from our experiences together. One thing's for sure, I would really, really, really miss them!

These books are given by friends that are so dear to me. I'm so grateful and glad to add these to my shelf :) But before I do that, I can't help but start reading them. In fact, I finished Ptr. Ed Lapiz's "Marks of a Winner" in one sitting. :) loved it!

Now, I'm halfway to Bo Sanchez's "Simplify and Create Abundance". My dad saw these books as well and he loved it too! :D Hope God would give me opportunities to share my learnings from these books to others.

my first ever Starbucks planner :)

Thanks to everyone who contributed (in one way or another) to fill my card with Starbucks stickers. :D I already claimed my planner last December 28 at Alabang Town Center Starbucks branch. yey!!!

This would be really helpful to me, as you know, I'm very much a "planner". Aside from that, I sometimes couldn't handle my overflow of thoughts that I need something to write it on. This planner is just perfect for that job! :D

W.I.N. Global Gathering 2007

This kept us busy almost the entire year. :) Now, it's only 2 days to go before the much awaited event...

It is indeed my pleasure to be a part of this event. Being a first timer in a production staff of a big event such as this surely wasn't easy, as it required much of my time, effort, brains (hehe...) and even finances. But I did enjoy my job as a script writer and stage manager of the Opening Ceremony and the Youth Concert. All the learnings, in every life aspect, are sooo priceless! My co-core group members would surely agree with me! *winks* Every thing's truly worth it!!! :)

So if you've got nothing to do on December 29, 6pm...join us at the PICC Forum and get to see our youth concert entitled "WIN the Next!". We love you so much that's why, Admission is free!!! :)

Up until this time I should say we are having a busy holiday. Still have those technical and dress rehearsals lined up tomorrow. And of course some last minute preparations... whew! We're kinda feeling the nervousness now, but we know we have nothing to worry about as long as we trust in God's strength and guidance to accomplish the tasks He has called us to do. All I can say now is that, we're all excited to celebrate 10 years of God's goodness and faithfulness in this ministry!

Medyo maulan pagdating namin doon, ngunit ganun pa man ay hindi ito nakapigil sa amin. hehehe... Super enjoy ang mga bata (o batang isip? hahaha) pati na rin ang mga mommy at daddy. Third time ko ito sa E.K. Yung last na punta ko dito ay 5 years ago na. hehehe...

Hindi planado itong Tarlac vacation namin but then sabi nga nila yung mga biglaang lakad daw ang mas natutuloy. hehehe... And just like last year, we really enjoyed our bonding time there. So here as promised, eto na po mga pics from our Tarlac trip. Thanks to ate Mitch for the pics. :D

Good morning! I love the sunshine! :D kahit mapungay pa ang mga mata kase one hour pa lang ang tulog. hehehe... Anyways, sarap naman mag biyahe early in the morning kase wala pang traffic. Nagulat nga lang kaming lahat ng biglang bumangga kami sa kia-sportage na nasa harap namin. tsk, tsk.. hayyy... inaantok pa yata ang driver naming si Mark (a.k.a. Piolo hahaha...) buti na lang at daddy nya ang nagmamay-ari ng sportage na yun. hahaha lagot! Thank God slight lang ang damage sa sinasakyan naming crosswind, yun nga lang e nasermonan ang bata. :(

Eto ang pinag kaabalahan namin habang nasa Tarlac. Si kuya Aris kase binigyan kami ng problema hahahah! - 1,000-piece puzzle! waaaaahhh.... "Many heads are better than one" - kaya ayun, joint force kami sa pag buo nito, kahit hanggang hating gabi na. :D

whew! nakakapagod mag isip.... ayan, nakatulog muna since puyat rin. Yun nga lang walang ligtas sa mga paparazzi na walang ginawa kundi mag picture ng mga natutulog hayy...

Eto pa ang isa naming pinagka-abalahan - videoke! Panalo team namin e.. winning piece ko yung Breakout ng Swingout Sisters. hehehe... Pero hindi tumupad sa usapan yung mga dapat manlibre ng ice cream.. hmp! =P

Nag last full show rin sa Luisita Mall. Ngayon lang ako nakapag last full show ng 7:30pm. Ganun pala sa probinsya. hehehe...

Extended ang birthday celebration ni ate Lucille. Ayan, pinag luto pa siya ng special pancit ni tito Pit and tita Daisy. saraaaappp!

Ayan, malapit na namin mabuo ang puzzle... pero sa kasamaang palad ay hindi pa rin namin sya natapos wwaaaaahhh.. kulang ang 2 days namin sa tarlac. hayyy...

5:03 pm @ the office

Heard my cell phone ringing, and saw it's my sister calling. When I picked it up and said "hello", the voice on the other line said, "Hi ate! Mr. Christian Bautista wants to speak to you..."

I was like, What? Are you serious? but... ohhh... ahhmm... wait..! But before I could say another word, I heard a man's voice saying, "Hello, Dorothy!" At the back of my mind, I know it was him! But I just couldn't believe what I was hearing, I just can't believe it's really happening. I heard my mind telling me, "that's him! that's him! C'mon talk to him, Doths! Go!"

Obviously, I was totally shocked! It seems I couldn't utter anything...Oh no! I felt my heart was going to leap out of its proper place at any moment!

He continued, "So you are at work now?", I answered "Uhmm.. yes..." with a cracking voice (that's how nervous I was... yikes!) I heard him speak again, "Oh I see.. your sister said you're supposed to come with her here, at my interview." I was forcing myself to speak naturally this time and said smilingly, "Oh yeah! I was hoping to have a picture with you and also if you could sign my CDs... :)" He replied, "Oh sure! And I hope you could also come to my concert on October 6. I'll expect you there, ok?" Enthusiastically, I said, "Yes, I will definitely watch your concert! Thank you so much for calling, Christian! God bless you!" He answered back, "Thank you also Dorothy! Bye!"

When I hung up the phone, I still couldn't believe what had just happened. I had to wait for a few moments before it totally sink in. Did I just talk to my ultimate crush?! Oh, What a sweet, lovely day! woohoo! I just couldn't hide my gladness! God is really God! He knows exactly how to make me smile. :) I'm not sure though, how I sounded to him...hopefully not that rattled. hehehe...I wish my sister had let me known earlier that Christian would call so that I could have prepared a little better. I was really hoping to ask him to sing even just a few lines from his song. But then again I was in a state of shock that I didn't even thought about it at that moment. Talk about mental block. tsk, tsk...

I really hope we could talk longer. hehehe.. but I think that was already too much of me to ask. I could really sense what a kind man he is, even through his voice. Hopefully, I could have a chance to see him soon and have our photo taken, and my CDs signed. :D Meantime, I am just sooooo happy with our little conversation. aaawww... I could still hear his voice echoing like the beautiful songs he sing... And yes, I just couldn't help smiling... *blush*blush*still blushing...* =P

Meet the newest member of the family... :)

His mom is a pure breed pit bull and his dad is your typical askal.

He's such an adorable fellow, who loves to sleep at the sofa, with his head on the throw pillows (but loves my lap even better). Though still small being 2 months young, he already has a big appetite. He loves biting slippers and rags, too. He loves to stay at my room, but likes to do his "thing" there as well. (tsk, tsk.. We still have to toilet train him)

Mayumi got a little jealous of him at first. But now they're already playmates. :D He drives mayumi crazy, with his naughty antics. It's so funny to watch them running around!

We know he will grow up to be really strong and brave , that's why we named him - "KING". :)

I was never wrong when I decided to put my trust in God. Indeed, He always proved to be soooo faithful and true to His promises! Today, I am overflowing with gladness because He has heard my prayer, even the faintest ones, and never gets impatient, even when I become so "makulit" and bother Him as often as I could. :) It may not sound big for others, but for me, it's one of the best things ever!

From the deepest part of me...To my Dear Lord, Loving Dad, Best Friend, Comforter, Strength, Provider and sooo much more, I am truly thankful, beyond words could ever express!!! I love you, Lord! muaaahhhh!!!!

G7 Youth Retreat

Event: 1st Youth Retreat in preparation for G7
Hosted by: Word International Ministries - Alabang
Participated by: 150 dedicated young people (from as far north as Tarlac to down south as Bicol)

As promised, here's my post about our recently concluded Youth Retreat. We only had about 2 weeks preparation for this event but God once again proved Himself faithful. Everything went smooth and everybody had fun and went home definitely refreshed!

I would just like to highlight my most considered memorable moments:

Registration

I don't know what happened to my co-core group members. I arrived at the venue 15 minutes before the call time since I'm part of the Registration committee. The guys and gals from Manila and Binangonan were already there (early birds!) It's such a joy to see my bro's and sistahs from Manila. I felt like a celebrity upon entering the room. hahaha! They've probably missed me that much. I surely missed them too. I kinda feel old though, seeing my previous sunday school students now part of the Youth ministry. whew! how time flies! :D

I texted the other members of the Reg committee and apparently, they are still on their way. hmmm... so I'm a one-man-team until they arrived at almost 5pm. Good thing, Jaja, Paul and Dang volunteered to help me handle the registration. Love you guys! You're the best! :D Jaja even helped me with the logistics and treasury. Thanks sis! ;)

Logistics/Treasurer/Marshall role

Had to be responisble for the head count of the delegates of each church. Food distribution was automatically part of this task as well. Also handled the retreat fee. waah! This really made me quite nervous. I had to bring the collected money wherever I go. Additional task of being a marshall was called for by Pastor Super. It's such a tough job to handle the security of these young people. Good thing, they've never been a problem to us. They love the Lord that much. :)

Bedtime/Bonding moments

The girls all slept in one big room. While the guys took their place at the sanctuary. Since there were a lot of us and quite a few shower rooms only, I was one of those who took a bath at 1 in the morning! :D cool! Quite tired for our 1st day events, I slept with my hair still damp.

Though busy with the tasks assigned on me, I'm glad to still have several time to bond, chat and laugh with the rest of the young people while eating, playing, during devotions, while taking the VTRs, and even at bedtime. It was so much fun! :)

Altar Call/Annointing

This was actually not in the programme we have set. But Pastor Super felt the Holy Spirit leading him to do this after the talk he gave. He called for us, the core group members to come in front. All the while, I thought he would annoint each of us with oil. But instead of laying his hand on our heads, he asked us to open our palms, then he poured oil on them.

I didn't know what that meant at first, then it suddenly hit me. He wanted us to be the one to annoint each youth present there, in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ! Oh my! I couldn't believe he just asked us to do that. Honestly, I didn't think I'm worthy to take such responsibility. But as I lifted my hand to the Lord, while tears endlessly ran down my face, I surrendered all that I am to Him and asked Him to use me in whatever way He pleases. How amazing it was, that I felt His love just covering every part of me. I know it was the same love that He poured on me, which I gave to every young person, as I lay my hand and prayed for each of them.

I can't describe how I felt as I was praying for the young people. Words of blessing and annointing just seem to flow automatically from my lips. Whenever I open my eyes, I would see that young person I'm praying for sobbing hardly, hands raised as a gesture of complete surrender to God.

I thank the Lord for using me at that moment. It was definitely an experience that I shall never forget.

It felt so good to once again feel the warmth and comfort of my bed, realizing that I've overslept 'til 10 a.m. on a Saturday morning. Yes, after a couple of weekends spent in the office, I'm finally home on a Saturday! yey! yey! yey!

I'm supposed to have my checkup but the rainy weather made me decide to just do it next week. Besides, I have a lot of things in my checklist which I have to finish within the day. And all the while, I thought I won't be busy on a weekend, huh. But this is the kind of busyness that I like, so I'm not complaining. hehehe...

It's the Youth Retreat tomorrow until Monday - our first event for the preparation for the upcoming Global Gathering. I know I'm supposed to have a couple of weeks to prepare everything I needed but you see, my toxic sched for the past weeks would not permit me to take care of them earlier. So there, I spent the morning doing the registrations forms, creating the financial report which I will hand over to Kuya A, encoding the directory of participants, buying supplies for the registration committee and finally headed to church for the music ministry rehearsals.

It's quite a good thing that I'm not assigned to do the worship leading, not even to backup. Though I must admit, I miss singing for the Lord already. But my sorethroat won't really permit me. hayyy... Anyway, at least I have enough time to prepare my lesson for Kid's Sunday School tomorrow. I'll make sure we'll all learn and have fun! :D

OT days are (hopefully) over! I'm back on my usual weekend sched. And I'm glad!

I'm very excited for the retreat, too! I'll keep you posted about it, hopefully with the pictures. :D

I'm quite surprised with most of the text messages I received today. I don't know what's with today but those texts just sounded interesting and sweet, might be because it's not everyday that I receive these kind of messages. hehe... So here, I just thought of sharing some of them. :)

Early in the morning...5:18 am, from a thoughtful sis - angeline:

"ate doths! gud am! ang prayer ko para sa yo maging healthy ka lagi esp ikw bred winner ng family, no siknes wil come upon u...tapos mkapagasawa k n. hehe..:) syempre God's wil wuld prevail. In Jesus name amen! luv u ate doths! :)"

~ It's the first time she texted me a personal prayer. So sweet and genuine. And to think she was praying for me that early in the morning, awwww...I was sooooo touched.

9:56 am, from a "kindred spirit" (that's how she would describe "us"), my dear friend - jonki:

(we had an interesting conversation over YM regarding some relevant ministry matters which are somehow affecting us, but we chose to look at them as a challenge instead of a hindrance. we actually had fun as we made some realizations :D)

~ I received his text an hour after he left his office. I could imagine him smiling (or even laughing) on his way home. hehehe.. I warned him though not to make it too obvious, you know, people around him might think he's crazy hahaha.. :P I think I'd look forward to more conversations like that. It's actually uplifting. :)

I hope I have conveyed how thankful I am to these people who have made my day as I sent my replies to their messages. Truth is, these kind of messages kept me going (and keeps my sanity intact. hehehe) in toxic times like this. :)

At the end of the day, I just realized how good God is. He always has this special way of letting us know how much He loves us. And yes, he works through our brothers and sisters around us. I felt "hugged" sooo warmly and sooo tightly. :D

Rains poured heavily, same with the bulk of work that filled most of my day, and just like all the unanswered questions that kept on flooding my heart and mind.

The rain has subsided. My "to-do" list got trimmed down. But the questions remain.

I know I will keep on asking them and do everything to seek and find the answers. In time, I believe that I will come to understand.

Busy days again

I just finished my assigned project last mid July, and I guess I had enough time to relax a bit while waiting for my next project. Last week, my boss asked me to help in another project. I knew then that I'm gonna be busy for the next couple of weeks.

True enough, "over time" was the word of the week for me since last Tuesday. Our team even had to work last Saturday, which is quite unusual here in OCS. hehehe... Because of that, I had to be absent from an important meeting in church and that also meant missing my family since I had to stay at my cousin's place in Manila during the weekend.

Anyway, I found this in my inbox this morning as I was checking my emails. This is actually from my Heartlight devotional email subscription. I just thought its message is very timely for me.

And yes, in busy times like these, there's only one place where I can find rest and be refreshed once again. Read on, and I hope you'd find this reminder helpful as well. :)

VERSE:

Six days do your work, but on the seventh day do not work, so that your ox and your donkey may rest and the slave born in your household, and the alien as well, may be refreshed.

THOUGHT:

Refreshed! Boy that's often hard in any time, but it's especially hard in August, isn't it? It's either the dead of summer or the dead of winter depending on which side of the equator you find yourself. Either way, we need to hear God's desire for all of us to be refreshed and to allow those around us to be refreshed in his presence, his grace, and his rest.

PRAYER:

Forgive me, God, for being so busy being busy that I don't intentionally take time to be refreshed in your rest. Teach me gently, Father, that I need this weekly rest in your presence and with my family to be all that you want me to be, and all that I can be. Restore my soul, O God, and fill me with your restful joy. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
