Friday with the Ephil Folks

Lunch at Market! Market!

I’m glad to still feel a part of the Ephil Family even if I’m already working for another company. It really wasn’t so easy for me to detach myself from the people and the environment. Probably, that’s the reason why I still spend my lunch at the Enterwork’s Pantry almost everyday. I miss Mang Rudy’s iced tea and the Nescafe coffee. (My taste buds like it better than our Starbucks coffee at OCS. Hehehe…) I guess I really can’t blame Bambie when all the while he thought I was still one of his officemates. It was only last Thursday when he knew that I wasn’t an Enterworks employee anymore. (Hehehe…) That’s okay, Bibams! (“,)

I got an invitation from Angie yesterday to join them for lunch at “Market! Market!” today – her treat for being regularized. Wow! I was so surprised and so touched that she invited me. I felt like I’m a part of the QA team once again, being there with Mommy Weng, Angie, Cynch, Joy, Cherry, Cookie, Ken, Franco and Ma’am Mimi. Tabel and Rene were also with us. Unfortunately, Brian had a lunch date so he can’t join us (hmm…hehe..).

We teased Angie that we really prepared for her treat, since we didn’t even have breakfast (haha!) She said she should’ve given the invitation 5 minutes before lunch. Too late for that. Hehehe! But seriously, all of us were already hungry by the time we get to Market! Market! Angie, Mommy Weng and Tabel ordered from Trinity our favorite Buttered Chili Crabs and Grilled Panga ng Tuna. And of course how can we forget the best barbeque from Ineng’s.

Yummy Buttered Chili Crabs!

Ineng's Barbeque (the best!)

While waiting for the food to be cooked, Cynch, Angie and I strolled around the booths that were selling different delicacies. We were able to buy some “pasalubong” at a relatively cheap price.

So Happy! Can't wait to eat! hehe...

By the time all the food was served, we didn’t waste anymore precious time. It’s chow time for all of us! Yehey!!! Our forks and spoons didn’t seem to have anymore use. We’ve got to use our bare hands as we eat the crabs. But it was really more fun and exciting that way.

Eating time!

Galit galit muna tayo... haha!

Want some?

Needless to say, we were all so full after eating and there’s still even some food left. But I guess no matter how full we were, there’s always some space for dessert! (Hehe…) Since our table was located near Razon’s, we teased Angie that we really would love to taste their especialty – halo-halo! It was not easy for her to give in, but in the end she was forced (hehehe…) to order for us. Ma’am Mimi volunteered to pay for it when she came back after buying something, but Angie had already paid for it. =)

Enjoying Razon's Halo-halo (yum, yum!)

We all enjoyed the halo-halo, except for Rene who didn’t order one and Angie, who got some ice cream for desert.

Satisfied! (",)

Wow! It was really a great lunch. We had to walk around the mall first just to get the food to settle in our stomachs. But we’re also waiting for the rain to stop before we leave.

It was already past 2pm when we left Market! Market! I was quite worried because we might have a Project Status Meeting. Good thing, when I got back in the office, our Technical Director was busy orienting our newly hired Project Manager – and we won’t have a meeting. Yey!

I sent a YM message to Angie to thank her again for inviting me. I really had a great time being with all of them and glad to feel I’m a part of the family once again. (“,)

Table Tennis at Ephil’s Game Room

Another thing that I really miss at Ephil are the game tournaments. It was during one of those tournaments that I learned how to play Darts. It was indeed an unforgettable experience that I owe to Ephil. I didn’t join the table tennis tournament, though. I just don’t think I’m worthy enough to compete. (hehehe…) But I did enjoy watching and cheering.

Tabel invited me to pass by Ephil yesterday night to spend some time to play table tennis with them. I really wanted to, but I promised my mom I’ll go home early. So I told her I’ll just pass by tonight, anyway it’s a Friday.

I haven’t played for a long time already so when I got inside the game room, I was quite hesistant to join them at first. But I had the pleasure of playing with Nikki, Ate Ning and Ces. Good thing, Nikki is really good at playing and so we managed to win over Ate Ning and Ces who are equally good as well. It was a tight game.

I also had a game with Rene, who seemed to be practicing the techniques he got from Boyet. He found them effective...at me (hehehe…) I just don’t know if it will be effective to his future opponents as well. But at the end of our game, I was surprised that I won. (Nice!) Hmm…maybe it wasn’t his performance level yet.

Mike played with us, too. It’s me and Tabel versus Mike and Rene. It was a tight and exciting game. Mike plays so well and I like how he serves the ball…it’s quite unique. It’s also good that Tabel is my partner. At least I know we have a chance to win somehow. Hehehe… And guess what??? Would you believe that we actually won?! It was so unexpected. Hmm…Was it Beginner’s Luck? (Maybe…but I don’t believe in that. Haha!) So let’s just say it was my day.

I got home at 11 p.m. already, but I was just so grateful for all the time I’ve spent with my Ephil friends today. (“,)
