Twenty-third Psalm - Explained

I've read Psalm 23 numerous times, and even memorized this beautiful passage from the Bible. But this article that my friend sent me, made me realize its deeper meaning and thus made me more grateful to my dear Shepherd. Here, let me share it with you...

PSALM 23
The Lord is my Shepherd ----- that's Relationship!
I shall not want ----- that's Supply!
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures ---- that's Rest!
He leadeth me beside the still waters ----- that's Refreshment!
He restoreth my soul ----- that's Healing!
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness ----- that's Guidance!
For His name sake ----- that's Purpose!
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death ----- that's Testing!
I will fear no evil ----- that's Protection!
For Thou art with me ----- that's Faithfulness!
Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me ----- that's Discipline!
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies ----- that's Hope!
Thou annointest my head with oil ----- that's Consecration!
My cup runneth over ----- that's Abundance!
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life ---- that's Blessing!
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord ----- that's Security!

Forever ----- that's Eternity!!!

May we all find real security in the hands of our Shepherd.

Have a blessed week ahead!

I Dance...

The first time I heard this song, I was immediately attracted to its sweet melody. And as I ponder upon the lyrics, I felt that I could very well relate to its message. Yes, the peace and joy that God gives, His unfailing love, His sweet, glorious presence...all these and more, truly compels my heart and gives me more than enough reason to dance...

Two little angels =)

I spent last weekend celebrating with my two good friends, Ate Feena and Cynthia, as they dedicated their little angels to the Lord. :) I remembered even while the two of them were still conceiving their babies, they already told me that I will be one of the ninangs. Wow! It's really my pleasure to be a godmother to their little ones.

January 20, Saturday at Prince Plaza II, little Yohan's dedication was held. It was also a great opportunity to see and be with my WIN-Manila friends whom I haven't seen for a loooooong time now. Aside from the great food we shared, I really had lots of laughs and chit-chats with them. :D

Then the following day, early (as in early! hehehe) Sunday morning, January 21, I went to International Baptist Church in Makati for Sam's dedication. I'm really glad to see Cynthia and Ted there, with the rest of their family to witness this wonderful occasion. :D

Cynthia (mare!) & my cute inaanak Sam :D

Ninang Doths and little Sam :)

To my two "kumare's", congratulations to both of you! I could see how happy and grateful you are for the little angels God has blessed you with. :) I hope I would also be a good ninang to my two handsome inaanaks. God bless you both! (",)

just a love song...

I got a sweet surprise from bespren Ritche this morning. While I was busy replicating the bugs I needed to verify, he suddenly handed me this newest album of Christian Bautista! Oh my!!! :D No, he's not giving it to me though (I wish! hehehe...) But he said, he thought of buying it last night when he saw it at Tower Records because he remembered that I like this guy very much. :D awww....Thanks Ritche!

Now, I have a new playlist to add in my player. yey cool! My instant favorites are: "If Ever You're In My Arms Again", "You", "Could Not Ask For More", "Beautiful In My Eyes" and of course the carrier single, "Just A Love Song".

I think I'll be visiting the nearest record bar really soon to get my own copy of this album. (",)

Planning ahead

I came across this article as I was sorting through my friends' forwarded emails while taking a break this afternoon. I could very well relate to this one, since I'm a "planner" myself. I just thought of sharing it here with all of you as well. A very timely reminder as we plan ahead for 2007! (",)

The best gift anyone can give me this new year is a planner.
I like planners because I am a planner.
I like thinking ahead.
I like being prepared.
I get a high from being on top of things.
But some things are beyond planning.
And life doesn't always turn out as planned.

You don't plan for a broken heart.
You don't plan for a failed business venture.
You don't plan for an adulterous husband.
Or a wife who wants you out of her life.
You don't plan for an autistic child.
You don't plan for spinsterhood.
You don't plan for a lump in your breast.

You plan to be young forever.
You plan to climb the corporate ladder.
You plan to be rich and powerful.
You plan to be acclaimed and successful.
You plan to conquer the universe.
You plan to fall in love - and be loved forever.

You don't plan to be sad.
You don't plan to be hurt.
You don't plan to be broke.
You don't plan to be betrayed.
You don't plan to be alone in this world
You plan to be happy.
You don't plan to be shattered.

Sometimes if you work hard enough, you can get what you want.
But most times, what you want and what you get
are two different things.
We, mortals, plan. But so does God in the heavens.

Sometimes, it is difficult to understand God's plans especially
when His plans are not in consonance with ours.
Often, when God sends us crisis, we turn to Him in anger.
True, we cannot choose the cross that God wishes us to carry,
but we can carry that cross with courage
knowing that God will never abandon us
nor send something we cannot cope with.

Sometimes, God breaks our spirit to save our soul.
Sometimes, He breaks our heart to make us whole.
Sometimes, God sends us pain so we can be stronger.
Sometimes, God sends us failure so we can be humble.
Sometimes God sends us illness
so we can take better care of ourselves.
Sometimes, God takes everything away from us
so we can learn the value of everything He gave us.

Make plans but understand that we live by God's grace.

"Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed."
- Proverbs 16:3
